Take Action Cancel All Illegitmate Debts NOW!

Cancel All Illegitimate Debts Now!

The Problem: Impoverished countries owe $2 trillion ($2,000,000,000,000) in foreign debts.

The Injustice: A large amount of the money owed is either;

Unpayable
Payments causing unacceptable suffering and deprivation especially in areas of health and education
- or -
Illegitimate
The money was lent irresponsibly for useless projects or given on unfair terms with damaging conditions attached.

Remember Debt Cancellation works!
Because of debt cancellation:

  • Uganda - 5million more children are in Primary School
  • Malawi - 3,600 new teachers in schools per year
  • Tanzania - 32,000 new classrooms built
  • Mozambique - free childhood immunisation available

Action Alert - Debt and Development Coalition are calling on you to support Developing countries in their fight to eliminate poverty and improve their peoples quality of life

How - by writing to your local TDs and asking them:

  • Will they support your call on the World Bank and International Monetary
Fund (IMF) to hold a public inquiry into WB/IMF loans?

  • Will they recognise the existence of illegitimate debts and call for the
cancellation of all illegitimate debts in the new government?

  • Will they sign the parliamentarians declaration on illegitimate debt?

Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made, and can be overcome by the actions of human beings.
