Mobilisation for Debt Cancellation in Washington
September 26-28th
There are 1.5 million reasons to go to Washington DC this September say Jubilee USA. 1.5 million children will be returning to school in Tanzania this year as a direct result of debt relief and campaigns to abolish World Bank imposed school fees. Jubilee USA are organising a mass mobilisation for total Debt Cancellation in Washington DC next month as the Autumn meetings of the World Bank and IMF take place.
Workshops, panel discussions, teach-ins and a film festival will take place from September 25th to September 30th. The list of events also includes an Interfaith Prayer Service and Vigil at the US Treasury Department on September 26th at 7 pm. The events will culminate in a march on Saturday September 28th.
