Paradise Lost? How the financial system is failing climate-change affected countries and what we can do about it

26 July 2018

Climate Change is already having a significant impact on many of the world's countries, including a disproportionate impact on many of the poorest countries who have done little to contribute to its effects. The financial system is not helping these countries rebuild, and is in fact making their situation worse.

Join us on Thursday 26th July to hear from two expert speakers about how the financial system is failing these countries, and the possible steps we can take.

Jurgen Kaiser is the Co-ordinator of Erlassjahr.de, Jubilee Germany, and will speak to us about a new plan for debt relief for climate change effected countries.

Cliona Sharkey is Policy Advisor with Trócaire and will look at the context of the broader financial system and its effects.

Venue

Carmelite Community Centre, 56 Aungier Street, Dublin 2
